Late April of 2011 I began my fitness journey. I will never forget the months leading up to this date as I manifested and envisioned myself finally sticking to a fitness routine. My goal was to run 3 miles a day. I embarked on my first run early one late April morning and of course could not even make it a half of a mile without stopping to walk. I did my 3 miles though and I stayed true to my word. In only 5 weeks I could run the 3 miles without stopping at a ten minute pace, and could see my body transforming. This was the first time I experienced a "runners high" and from that point on I considered myself a "cardio addict". The intense euphoria and quick changes I saw in my body made me a fiend for this new found drug.

Welcome to Western Culture, where people gather at yoga studios called "Core Power" and other corporate studios full of eager people ready to get a workout in decked out in LuluLemon. No one wants to sit for very long, and if they aren't drenched in sweat and doing vigorous movements for 90 minutes they leave unfullfilled. But what is yoga?
